I have so many things to be grateful for this time of year especially the blessing
of being a mother. A decade ago I never imagined that being a mother could be
such hard work. The rewards of motherhood make it all worth it though. I truly love
my life and the children that Heavenly Father has entrusted Jeremy and I to raise
here on this earth. These past few days as my children were enjoying a snack I got
to listen to their conversation which made me realize that their sweet voices and little
bodies will not stay like this forever. I sat down and took time to remember their
laughter. Every day I want stop and take time to remember the hugs I receive, the
kisses I have to trick Andrew into giving me, the “I want this mommy” and “I want
that mommy” all day long because I know that these times pass by too quickly. I love,
love, love my children and the happiness that I get to experience everyday from them.
For family home evening last night we talked about being grateful and part of our lesson
was writing down on paper feathers some of the things we were all grateful for. I
noticed a pattern of how every one of us said that we were grateful for each other.
We added the paper feathers to our turkey that the children and I made a week in
advance out of clay. It looks beautiful on our kitchen table and is such a nice
reminder of what we are grateful for.
This fall we have been delighted with many homemade pies from Jeremy. From apple
to pumpkin and last night, blueberry pie. I know that we are spoiled and I love my sweet
hubby even more for knowing how to bake.
