Chess Tournament

Jasmine joined the math and chess club through her school several months
ago and for the past two weeks she has competed in two chess tournaments.
As chess has become quite the daily game in our house her skills have improved
tremendously and we were able to see that in her games. In the first tournament
she came out with a medal and in the second one her points helped the school
team earn third place taking home a trophy that is going to be displayed in the
glass case at her school.
I was a little nervous during her last tournament as she competed against sixth graders.
Not only that but there were more than sixty kids from different schools in the same
room ready to play their opponents. As I looked at Jasmine before each of her games
she seemed so calm and confident. Her smile reassured me that she is having a good
time. She can’t wait for her next tournament, which will be in December.
I want to give a great thanks to my husband who has been helping Jasmine learn new
strategies and is so supportive of all her tournaments. He is amazing at being willing
to be there for hours and hours when these tournaments take place. Also I want to write
down a message for my little princess.
Jasmine sweetheart you are an amazing player! Daddy, Andrew and I are very proud of
you and we love you very much. Continue doing your best and you will succeed in
whatever you desire.
